1. Quotations and Acceptance

Quotations remain valid 30 days. Acceptance may be by writing, email or deposit. No works commence until acceptance. Variations must be agreed in writing. Hidden defects discovered during works may result in additional charges.

2. Payments

Payment due within 7 days unless agreed otherwise. Deposits up to 50%, stage payments on contracts over £2,000, VAT at prevailing rate, and agreed retention terms apply.

3. Overdue Payments

Interest at 8% above base rate may apply. Contractor may suspend works and recover reasonable debt recovery costs.

4. Timing and Delays

Dates are estimates only. Weather, shortages, force majeure and client-caused delays may extend programme and increase costs.

5. Client Responsibilities

Client provides safe access, utilities, permissions, parking permits, insurance notification, protection of delivered materials, and coordination with other trades.

6. Access and Abortive Visits

Lost time or wasted visits due to inaccessible or unprepared site may be chargeable.

7. Materials and Ownership

Title in supplied materials remains with Contractor until full payment. Removed materials become Contractor property unless agreed otherwise.

8. Waste and Hazardous Materials

Waste removed unless stated otherwise. Specialist disposal may be extra. Discovery of asbestos or hazardous materials stops work pending lawful removal.

9. Weather Exposure

Temporary exposure during roofing works may occur. Reasonable precautions taken, but sudden unforeseen weather damage is excluded.

10. Completion and Snagging

Practical completion occurs when substantially complete. Minor snagging does not delay final payment.

11. Guarantees

Re-roofing 10 years; repairs 12 months. Excludes severe weather, poor maintenance, blocked drainage, wear and tear, and third-party interference.

12. Liability

No liability for pre-existing defects unless caused by negligence. Indirect or consequential loss excluded. Total liability limited to contract value.

13. Insurance

Public and Employers Liability insurance maintained.

14. Consumer Cancellation

14-day cancellation rights apply where required by law unless waived by written request to commence early.

15. Insolvency and Disputes

Contractor may cease work on client insolvency. Disputes may be referred to adjudication. Laws of England and Wales govern.
